Christine Boyle co-chairs the City of Vancouver’s work implementing the UN Declaration of the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP) and aligning City policy with its principles, alongside the Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh Nations and the urban Indigenous community.

This initiative builds on the BC's Declaration Act, with its commitment to measurable actions and systemic changes in pursuit of a deeper commitment to reconciliation.

Like many of us, Christine is worried about the effects of the climate crisis on our air, lands, and waters -- and the people who rely on them.

So she put her consensus-building skills to work, passing a climate emergency motion unanimously, and building consensus between young climate leaders, seniors, doctors, scientists and City staff to bring in the most comprehensive climate plan in North America.

Christine Boyle was instrumental in exposing the BC Liberals' bad deal at Little Mountain, where a social housing complex was sold to Holborn in a deal that the Vancouver Sun said "showed incompetence and disregard for the public interest".

She tabled and passed a motion to throw Vancouver’s weight behind the community’s fight for transparency and accountability. She has continued to fight tirelessly for social housing on these lands.

In 2021, Christine brought a motion to Vancouver City Council to fast-track approval of non-market housing, allowing the community housing sector to build more affordable homes.

It failed, but she didn’t give up. She returned the motion to Council in 2022, and she brought the community housing sector, housing advocates and the business community together to push forward. She got it passed and continues to be an advocate for housing.
